Bioprocessing Program Manager

Mission of the Role

Kiverdi is looking for an organized, detail-oriented self-starter who can effectively assure that applications of the Kiverdi gas bioconversion technology are optimized,scaled, built and tested, and all customer deliverables are complete. This may include overseeing the piloting and building of upstream technologies, such as gasifiers and/or gas scrubbing system.

Responsibilities

  • The main responsibility will be to actively manage the testing and scale up of operations and technology. It will include development of project plans and managing cross - functional teams to ensure project milestones are met on time and budget.
  • Create resource plans, including personnel hiring and infrastructure development needs (e.g. equipment, IT, back office support, etc.
  • Develop project KPIs and track to ensure project objectives are met  
  • Manage (either directly as the project manager or indirectly via project managers) Kiverdi personnel, contractors and external labs to deliver against project plans on time and on budget
  • Manage multiple - vendors including contract negotiations, and keeping vendors accountable for delivery.
  • Ensure goals are met in areas including stakeholder satisfaction, safety, quality and team member performance
  • Implement and manage changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved
  • Regularly communicate with stakeholders to ensure transparency around project issues
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle
  • Analyze and manage program risks

Background

  • 10+ years of industry experience, in chemical or biological industries.
  • Experience with pilot scale up of bioprocesses or chemicals
  • 5 years of prior and recent Project /Program Management experience
  • Degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent training and related degree
  • Expert level proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Management consultancy experience,  from a large firm like Bain, BCG or McKinsey is a plus
  • PMP certification is preferred, but not required
  • Understanding and extensive prior effective use of project management software
  • Proven stakeholder management skills
  • Proven experience managing a team
  • Prior startup experience strongly desired

Project Engineer

 

 

Mission of the Role


Kiverdi is looking for an organized, self - starter Project Engineer. The person in this role will be
responsible for coordinating, planning, and scheduling the technical and management aspects
of projects. This individual is a key technical person on projects on which they are assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the general plan for a project, prepare a budget estimate and obtain approval for the plan.
  • Coordinate contracting engineering services in accordance with good Engineering and safety practices, governmental regulation, plant specifications, applicable codes and underwriter requirements. Coordinate the activities of consulting firms when necessary.
  • Initiate procurement of materials and communicates with Purchasing, vendors and stores to control expediting and receiving of material.
  • Direct designers, check drawings and submit for approval.
  • Coordinate field installation, inspect and accept work. Prepare contractor information list and reviews it periodically to check the performance of each contractor.
  • Collect and distribute Engineering data and instructions for each specific project.
  • Provide required engineering services and technical knowledge for the application of new or different processes, equipment, and materials to existing production units to improve production rates, quality, lower production cost, or to improve equipment reliability.
  • Fully support Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well active participation on projects teams.
  • Should be able and willing to handle a number of other tasks like equipment design, procurement. ‘Nice to have’ drafting/autocad, etc.

Background

  • 5+ years experience in chemical or biotech industries
  • 7+ years of experience as a PM
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Solid understanding of unit operations with experience in both batch and continuous
  • chemical plant processes
  • Manufacturing equipment knowledge including reactors, heat exchangers, piping, and
  • pumps and pumping systems, boilers, cooling systems and technical drawing
  • interpretations.
  • Strong knowledge of process technology and equipment, process modeling and
  • statistical process control, basic engineering principles and regulatory compliance
  • Prior experience with MOC and PHA processes, PFD’s, P&ID’s, developing process
  • schematics
  • Experience with leading, managing and executing capital projects at all phases from
  • start of project definition to start up and commissioning.
  • Basic engineering principles and regulatory compliance knowledge
  • Computer literacy, specifically MS Excel, and project management software
  • Experience with multiple discipline projects
  • Safety Training
  • PMP is a plus


Education:


● BS Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical is preferred)
